ABOUT A BALBOA ACADEMY EDUCATION

Balboa Academy has been very successful in getting our students accepted into the college or university of their choice.  In 2009, 98% of the graduating seniors went on to attend a college or university.  In Jun 2010 89% of the senior class has been accepted by a college and have indicated that they will attend.

AP Exam Scores

Twenty one students received college credit in 2009 for completing the College Freshman English Composition course in their senior year of high school.

Students graduating from Balboa Academy are not required to take the TOEFL exam for admission into a US college or university. All 10 and 11 grade students take the College Board Practice Scholastic Achievement Test (PSAT) and second semester 11th grade and 12th grade students take the College Board Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT).

SAT Exam Scores

In the spring of the 2007-08 school Year, Balboa Academy changed from the TerraNova Standard Achievement Test to the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test.  MAP tests will be given in fall and spring of each year.  The MAP test is a US standards aligned computerized adaptive assessment that accurately reflect the instructional level of each student and measures growth over time.
